A stitched calendar is a great way to practice basic embroidery techniques throughout the year. Your completed calendar then becomes a snapshot into the most memorable moments of your year. In this class, Instructor Lillis Taylor will teach you a few basic embroidery stitches that can be used to create text or images. You’ll also learn some tips for keeping up with your calendar throughout the year.
In the first session, you’ll learn about how to get started with stitching and embroidery and you’ll have time to practice before beginning your calendar. In the second session, you’ll bring your lists and ideas for January 2025 and begin working on embroidering your first month’s memories. Throughout the year, MAKEbhm will offer Stitch Clinics where you can share your calendar’s progress or jump back into the project if you find yourself lagging.
To prepare for this class, go ahead and practice making a list of memorable experiences from the current month. Some ideas:
