Saturdays, April 5 - 26, 10 - 12pm

Explore another method of hand building in this beginner/intermediate level coil building course with Jess Jenkins. In this class, students will focus on creating one larger, more complex vessel over four weeks. This piece may be sculptural or functional, abstract or more classic in its composition. Coils offer loads of building flexibility, so students will be able to get creative designing their own pieces; vases, jars, bowls, and sculptural works like animal heads/busts. Come prepared with a sketch or general vision for your final goal.

Our first class will begin with a demonstration on forming coils and building the base of your form. As classes progress we will continue to build your form and learn how to decorate the vessels with texture, handles, and other embellishments.

This class is ideal if you have had a bit of ceramics experience and are looking to expand your skills.
